Vance Badawey became the Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre in 2015. He was born and raised in Port Colborne. Before becoming an MP, he worked in the private sector for over 35 years, managing his family’s business, Badawey Marine Ltd., and creating a consulting firm called Vance Badawey & Associates Inc.

In his role as an MP, Mr. Badawey chaired the House Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure, and Communities. He was also the Vice-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. His focus was on protecting the environment and economy of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. He was part of several committees and groups related to Parliament.

Before his time as an MP, Mr. Badawey served as a city councillor and Mayor of Port Colborne for multiple terms. He was involved in local and regional agencies and boards, including the Niagara Regional Council and the Regional Municipality of Niagara Police Services Board.

Outside of politics, Mr. Badawey volunteered with organizations like the Port Colborne Kinsmen Club, the United Way, and the Knights of Columbus. He also coached youth hockey and soccer.

He is married to Lisa Badawey and they have two children. He is a member of the Métis Nation and lives in Port Colborne with his wife, Leanna. They have two daughters, Logan and Jordan, two sons, Tyler and Jake, and two grandchildren, Hudson and Harper.
