Terry Duguid MP, born around 1954-1955, is a Canadian politician who has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Winnipeg South since 2015. He’s been active in local and national politics, even serving as a city councillor in Winnipeg from 1989 to 1995.

Duguid, the son of curling athlete Don Duguid, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s in Environmental Science. He’s been involved in eco-business activities in Winnipeg, leading organizations like Sustainable Development International and the Manitoba Clean Environment Commission.

He played a key role in preserving the Port of Churchill and the Hudson Bay Rail Line, and he founded the International Centre for Infectious Diseases after the SARS outbreak.

Before politics, Duguid was an environmental activist and worked with the Manitoba Liberal Party. As a Winnipeg City Councillor, he championed recycling and chaired the Public Works Committee. He later pursued not-for-profit leadership roles, overseeing projects like the Port of Churchill’s rail line transfer and contributing to sustainable development.

Duguid ran for federal office multiple times. He won in 2015, becoming an MP and taking on roles like Parliamentary Secretary for Families, Children, and Social Development.

He later served as Parliamentary Secretary for the Status of Women and became a member of associations focusing on Canada-China and Canada-Africa relations. He also took charge of Lake Winnipeg’s cleanup efforts, directing federal funds to combat toxic algae blooms.
