Northern Nash High School has announced the death of 16-year-old Jaylin Cornelius Silver, affectionately known as ‘Juicy’ by his teammates and coaches.

The district posted on Facebook about the news of Jaylin’s passing, expressing deep sadness and the need for grief counselors for students.

The community has scheduled Life Celebration Services for Saturday and Sunday at Greater New Testament Holy Church and Center of Performing Arts and Worship, Word Tabernacle Church, respectively.

Northern Nash coach Andrew Farriss expressed the emotional week for his team, stating that they did a great job adjusting and managing their emotions.

Jaylin died in a single-car crash around 5:36 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Thomas A. Betts Parkway and Goldrock Road. Farriss said his players would show support at the services for Jaylin and that they will miss him.

The district has also announced that it will provide grief counselors for students. Northern Nash coach Andrew Farriss said the team had a challenging week, but the students did a great job adjusting and managing their emotions.
