Jane Ellen Young is an American lawyer who became the United States Attorney for the District of New Hampshire in 2022.
Young got her Bachelor’s degree from Saint Anselm College in 1986 and her law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1989.
Starting from 1990 to 1992, Young worked as an assistant county attorney in the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office. After that, she joined the New Hampshire Department of Justice and held different roles. She was the head of the drug unit from 2006 to 2007, chief of the criminal justice bureau from 2007 to 2017, and director of the division of public protection from 2017 to 2018. From 2018 to 2022, she was the deputy attorney general.
Young became the deputy attorney general on July 2, 2018. When Gordon J. MacDonald was nominated as chief justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, Young became the acting attorney general of New Hampshire on January 7, 2021.

After being favorably reported by the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 10, 2022, her nomination was confirmed by the Senate on April 27, 2022. She officially started her position on May 2, 2022.
